I love Eichler. (Is there anyone who doesn’t??) I often fantasize about living in this modern house. So needless to say I totally drooled over the photography in this Metropolitan Home article. A former dancer renovated her mid-century Eichler in a minimalist style. Simply beautiful.

VISUAL ACOUSTICS
10.06.09I’m a major documentary geek as it is, but given the subject of this upcoming release, I’m uber excited about Visual Acoustics: The Modernism of Julius Shulman. The film, directed by Eric Bricker and narrated by Dustin Hoffman, celebrates the life and career of Shulman, whom is revered by many to be the greatest architectural photographer. Ever. Period. His work brought modern architecture mainstream and helped shape the careers of Frank Lloyd Wright, Richard Neutra and John Lautner. Other famous clients include Charles Eames, Craig Ellwood, A. Quincy Jones, and Peter Koenig, who’s glass and steel Case Study House No. 22 is by far Shulman’s most iconic shot. The documentary won the 2009 Palm Springs International Film Festival Audience Award for Best Documentary Feature as well as awards at the Austin Film Festival, Newport Beach Film Festival and the Lone Star International Film Festival.
